WHAT TO PACK
Gala evenings
At least twice on each seven-night voyage we’ll host a
Gala Evening. Many of our guests choose to sail with us specifically
because they look forward to these events. We invite you to dress
to impress as the celebratory atmosphere and sense of occasion is
heightened across the ship from 6pm, and formal dress (cocktail
wear and jackets and ties) are required in main dining restaurants on
these sparkling evenings. We theme these evenings to add even more
of a sense of glamour to the occasion. And we always communicate
this in advance so you can pack accordingly. Popular themes include
Masquerade, Black & White, Roaring Twenties, and Red & Gold.
But whether you simply nod to the theme with an accessory or
dress to impress is entirely up to you.
Formal dresses
Floor-length dresses in sumptuous silks. Ball gowns encrusted with
jewels. And off-the-shoulder cocktail dresses that kiss every curve.
When it comes to formal nights on board (we call them
Gala Evenings) our guests really do dress to impress.
Formal suits
Formal suits are only required on board a Transatlantic voyage
on Gala Evenings and, even then, there’s no pressure to dress-up
if you don’t want to. A formal suit, shirt, and tie of any colour will
also do just fine for Gala Evenings.
Shore days
As it’s likely you’ll be covering a lot of ground on foot, comfortable
shoes are a must. Some shore activities*, such as hiking, may call for
a specialist footwear so if you’ve booked any excursions ahead of
time, make sure you’ve packed appropriate clothing options. In some
destinations, the weather may also change very suddenly so it’s always
a good idea to pack a lightweight raincoat, umbrella or a warm jacket
to ensure you’re comfortable while away from the ship. A rucksack or
tote bag can be helpful for carrying water and other items during port
visits, particularly if you’re planning to shop on shore or head to
the beach. And – of course – don’t forget your camera.
